What stays on your device

Your progress, coins, unfinished level, settings and welcome choices stay on this device. We use local storage and caching to save your game and support offline play. If you enable Android cloud saves, a copy of this progress is also stored through Google Play Games. Browser saves remain separate.

Google Play Games on Android

The Android app uses Google Play Games Services for optional achievements and saved games. Google may automatically connect an existing Play Games profile. You can play without creating one. Achievement progress is sent to Google when connected. Cloud saves are off until you enable them in Settings → Play Games; they include progress, coins, stars, your unfinished level and game settings. They are stored in the game’s private Google Drive app-data area through Play Games. We do not access your other Drive files or request your friends list.

The Play Games SDK also processes game identity, device diagnostics and service usage data to operate and improve Google Play Games. Its service data is separate from our optional game analytics and is governed by Google’s privacy policy. The game displays your Play Games name locally when connected; it does not send it to our analytics or Supabase backend.

Cloud saves and analytics are separate. Turning analytics off does not turn cloud saves off, and turning cloud saves off keeps the existing cloud copy. You can manage your Play Games account and delete this game’s cloud data and achievements through Google Play Games settings. Turning sync off before deleting cloud data prevents this device from uploading it again. Offline changes stay on the device and sync when connected. We do not combine coin balances from conflicting saves.

Game analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand visits, levels started and completed, stars, hints, revives, foreground and active gameplay time, and game coin rewards or spending. Analytics starts automatically on the public website and in the Android app. You can turn it off in Settings → Privacy & data. Your choice is saved on this device. No extra analytics agreement is required to play.

The website uses Google Analytics browser cookies. The Android app uses the Google Analytics for Firebase SDK and an app-instance identifier. These measure sessions and returning visits. It also processes technical information such as browser, device, referral source and approximate location. We do not send your full save, Play Games player ID, name, email, authentication tokens or a cross-game account ID to Analytics. Game events are client-reported and are not verified competitive scores. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our game integration. The Android app does not request advertising ID permissions.

Providers and storage

Whisker Detective has its own Google Analytics property under Hunkydory Studio, separate from Arrowscape. Cloudflare hosts the website. Google processes analytics under its Privacy Policy. Blocking analytics or going offline does not stop the game. Reports already received are not erased by turning analytics off.

Previous online reports

Earlier versions offered separate Supabase play statistics. This version no longer sends those reports. The previous reporting pipeline has been retired. If this device has an earlier online profile, Settings → Privacy & data offers deletion of those reports only. A minimal deletion marker, shared authentication records, security logs and hosted backups follow the platform’s retention process. This does not delete Google Analytics data or another game’s records.

Your choices

You can turn off future analytics in Settings. Contact us for access or deletion requests relating to data already collected. Your local game is not a cross-device account.

Clearing browser data, clearing app data or uninstalling the app can remove access to this device profile. Contact us for privacy requests or help accessing or deleting your data. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to correction, restriction, objection or a complaint to your data protection authority.
